CAPACETE "TOMMY" BRODIE MKI 

BRODIE MARK I TOMMY HELMET

The latest aquisition to my collection is a Brodie helmet, called Helmet, steel, Mark I helmet in Britain and the M1917 Helmet in the U.S., was a steel combat helmet designed and patented in 1915 by the Briton John Leopold Brodie. Colloquially, it was also called the shrapnel helmet, Tommy helmet, or Tin Hat.

This one is a FAP example. The FAP stands for First Aid Post, and was used during the "Blitz".

Projécteis de M1-Garand encontrados na praia de Utah na Normandia. Enterrados na areia desde 6 de Junho de 1944, foram encontrados com detector de metais. A M1-Garand foi uma das armas ligeiras mais usadas no desembarque.

M1-Garand bullets, found deep in the sand at Utah Beach. Buried in the sand since the 6^th of June 1944, found with the help of a metal detector. The M1-Garand was one of the most used light weapons during the landings on d-day.

Exemplar de um contentor de gordura do exército alemão. Normalmente utilizado para transportar manteiga ou outro tipo de gordura para cozinhar. Este contentor era em baquelite. Este exemplar está marcado KZ3.

This is an example of a German army fat/butter dish. Normally used to transport butter, or other cooking fats. This dish is in Bakelite. This item is marked KZ3

Este é um exemplar de um “Spork”, um conjunto de colher e garfo rebitados. Distribuído aos soldados da Wehrmacht. Original,em estado de reliquia, encontrado em Kurland.

This is a “Spork” a Spoon/Fork combination riveted togher.It was issued to the Wehrmacht soldier as field gear. This one is in a relic condition, and was found in a battle field in Kurland.

FOGÃO DE CAMPANHA ESBIT - FIELD STOVE

Fogão de Campanha – Esbit – Field Stove

Este fogão de campanha, fabricado pela marca “Esbit” era fornecido aos soldados da Wehrmacht. Normalmente transportado no breadbag, era utilizado para aquecer comida, confeccionar pequenas refeições no Mess Kit, ou fazer café na Canteen Cup. Este exemplar é um original da WWII, com o seu fundo lisoe topo da caixa de corte a direito. Ainda chamuscado das acendalhas encontra-se no estado “as found”. No fundo está marcado “Erich Schumm Stuttgart”. As caixas na foto são réplicas. A caixa maior era a caixa de venda do Esbit, contendo instruções, e caixa pequena servia para as acendalhas (Fuel Tablets).

This field stove, made by the Esbit brand, was issued to the Wehrmacht. Normally transported in the bread bag, used to heat food in the mess kits or coffee using the metal canteen cup. This is the correct WWII issue one as the bottom is not slotted and the top is straight edged. The bottom is maker marked to "Erich Schumm Stuttgart". The metal itself shows use with age patina and soot stains from the burnt tabs. The boxes in the background are replicas of the sale box and fuel tablets box.
